The grave of Sonja Henie and Niels Onstad
Henie Onstad's two donors, Sonja Henie (1912–1969) and Niels Onstad (1909–1978), are both buried at Høvikodden.
Not only did they donate their art collections, they also created the building and a fund to operate it. They did not want the art center to be a mausoleum, but rather a living place where art could be in dialogue with the present. Their ambition was to create a museum for the future presenting "the art of tomorrow today."
