Kai Nielsen, Mother of Water (1918–1920)
The Danish sculptor Kai Nielsen (1882–1924) is well-known for his iconic work Mother of Water, which is carved in marble at Glyptoteket in Copenhagen. Cast in bronze at Høvikodden, the sculpture is presented with quite a different expression.
Donated to Henie Onstad by ship owner Klaveness.
