Jan Håfström, Landscape Memorial (1985)

Painter and sculptor Jan Håfstrøm (1937-) chose a site for his sculpture at Høvikodden which is relatively inaccessible. It is placed on an incline, about 18 metres long, where there has been a small landslide. Above it, there are trees; below, rolling stones have formed a hollow through the years. The sculpture itself “floads” between these two points, and is made of concrete. The floor is slightly curved and it is divided into four niches of equal size.
