More about the exhibition: The poster competition in 1968

The exhibition presents Sonja Henie and Niels Onstad in the autumn of 1967 when they announces a competition to create the first Henie Onstad Kunstsenter poster.

The title was 50 years of living art. Despite the fact that the competition was met with overwhelming response and 200 proposals were submitted, the jury considered that none of the drafts kept the standard they were looking for. The jury therefore contacted the renowned Swiss designer Siegfried Odermatt to design the art center's new logo and poster. An adjusted version of Odermatts symbol still forms the Henie Onstad logo today.

In the exhibition you can experience many of the original poster designs from 1968. These were by chance found in 2017 in a basement at Høvikodden. All in all, a unique and "frozen" time frame of Norwegian poster design anno 1968.
