Borealis II
Position North

Photo: Henie Onstad Archive
In 1985 there was an outdoor exhibition with sculptures in the landscape at Høvikodden.
Borealis II – Position North was curated by Per Hovdenakk together with Finnish Maaretta Jaukkuri. Ten Nordic and ten non-Nordic artists were invited to make art in the terrain surrounding Henie Onstad.
In the catalogue Jakkuri described the exhibition as postmodern because of the exhibition’s "free approach to different stylistic and historical elements as well as local characteristics".
Several of the sculptures can still be found in the Henie Onstad sculpture park.
If you search in the woods and on the beach you will find A Wall Cut Through by Bård Breivik, Per Kirkeby’s Sculpture, Bjørn Nørgaard’s Ragnarokk for 117th time, Jan Håfström’s Landscape Memorial, Sigurdur Gudmundsson’s Position North and Tony Cragg’s House.
