In this exhibition, Are Mokkelbost invites us to enter a world built up of different sequences of sounds and images.
Starting with elementary shapes and colours, with the circle in tones of grey and the triangle in the three primary colours, Mokkelbost builds up a graphic universe whose visual codes are then transferred to a corresponding system for sounds. Two different worlds move towards and influence one another. What happens when they meet?
Are Mokkelbost (born 1976) is a Norwegian artist, musician and composer who lives and works in Oslo. His interdisciplinary works include collages, drawings, data graphics, scenography, graphic design and music. He likes to work with systems, which he then uses to create new works. The title of the exhibition is named after the graphic and audio system that the artist has developed and used to create the works. The letters OK can be interpreted in a variety of ways: not only do they make up a word, they are also made up of a circle/three triangles, vowel/consonant and they form an icon that sums up the narrative.
