Henie Onstad Patrons Programme
Henie Onstad Patrons Programme
The Henie Onstad Patrons Programme offers a unique opportunity to become part of a dedicated art community, where members share a passion and interest in art. With the support of its members, Henie Onstad can strengthen its development of a broad and diverse collection of contemporary art. Together, we can comply the institution's vision from 1968: "The art of tomorrow today."
Sonja Henie (1912–1969) and Niels Onstad (1909–1978) met in the USA in 1955. Their shared passion for art was captured in Onstad's statement: “'I prefer tomorrow's art”. This forward-looking attitude became the guiding principle for their collections and the driving force behind the establishment of the museum.
As a Patron, you will have access to a range of exclusive benefits that will strengthen your connection to the Henie Onstad Art Center. You will meet artists, collectors, and curators as well as other art enthusiasts, and participate in tailor-made international themed trips to learn more about art and collecting.
As a patron, you will also have access to a range of exciting activities, such as private tours at Henie Onstad, other art museums and galleries, as well as visits to private collectors and artists' studios.
To join the program, an annual donation from 30,000 NOK is required. For members under the age of 40, the donation starts at 15,000 NOK.
The donations go to acquire new works to the collection. All acquisitions are considered by Henie Onstad's art department and acquisition committee, and through ICOM's code of ethics.
