THE HENIE ONSTAD ART COLLECTION in collaboration with ANE HJORT GUTTU

MODERN ART

Taking as a point of departure artist Ane Hjort Guttu’s interest for the modernisation of Oslo, we have chosen to take Norwegian Abstract modernism as the focal point for our exhibition. The city as “form, rhythm and mechanism” has been chosen as the platform for a large-scale investigation into the formal aspects of the collection’s content. The investigation looks at issues related to how the city developed, what has shaped and changed it and which social and political mechanisms influence the quality of life in a city.

On display will be works by artists such as Åse Texmon Rygh, Arnold Haukeland, Olav Strømme, Irma Salo Jæger, Hans Richter and Gunnar S. Gundersen, and the exhibition will consist of paintings, films, installations, sculptures and texts.
