Arne Ekeland was a visionary artist who often saw human life in a cosmic perspective. Many of his pictures are an expression of angst, apocalypse and doom, but at the same time they nearly always contain a glimmer of hope. He had an unerring belief that one day, mankind would realise a society where suppression, exploitation, famine and war were abolished, either on this planet or in some future existence somewhere out in the universe.

This exhibition celebrates the centenary of Ekeland's birth and focuses on the artist's monumental works in the form of 20 large-format paintings. In addition, around a hundred of Ekeland's drawings will be on show.
